Can I make or receive phone calls on my BlackBerry?
No, we do not offer voice service on our BlackBerry devices. You are on a Data only service plan.

How do I create my own BlackBerry email address?
You can create a blackberry email address via your pager by doing the following:

1) From the main screen, click on the "Setup Internet Email" icon
2) Select your Time Zone by clicking on it
3) Click on "Get Link"
4) Scroll to bottom of screen and click on "Yes" to agree to the Terms and Conditions
5) Click on "Accept"
6) Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click on "Create a blackberry email address"
7) Click on "Get Link"
8) You will see a message stating, "Some input fields are incomplete. Do you want to edit them?" Click on "No"
9) Scroll down to the text box and enter the username you want for your blackberry email
10) Scroll down and click on "Next"
11) Click on "Next" again

You should see a Congratulations message coming up confirming that your blackberry email was successfully created.
IMPORTANT: Once you have successfully created a BlackBerry email address please email help@goamerica.com with your name and email address so that we may update our system.

How do I make a relay using i711 from my BlackBerry?
You can make a relay call on your blackberry via i711 Wireless, by following the instructions below:

1) From the main screen, click on the i711 Wireless icon
2) Scroll down to the text box and enter in the area code and phone number (please note that you should not leave any spaces or type any hyphens when entering the number. For example, type 5558619054)
3) Scroll down to and click on "Start Call"
4) Click on "Start Call" again
5) Optionally, you may enter any special instructions for the operator at this point
6) Scroll down to and click on "Ok" to begin the call

Does my BlackBerry have a phone number?
Yes, your BlackBerry has a phone number for people to use when sending you a SMS Message. To locate the phone number for your BlackBerry please follows the instructions below:

- Scroll and select the PHONE icon
- Dial #686# (hold shift key for first # sign)
- Scroll and select CALL
- A message will pop up that says "Your T-Mobile number is #XXX-XXX-XXX"

Why is my phone number not a local number?
A local number is not necessary since there is no voice service available. You will not be charged long distance charges for sending SMS Messages.

How do I send a SMS Message (Text Message)?
You may send a SMS message (Text Message to Cell Phone)by following the steps below:

1) Click on the Compose Icon by pressing the roller wheel or press C from the main screen (screen with all the icons).
2) Select [Use Once] by pressing on the roller wheel.
3) Scroll and select SMS... by using the roller wheel.
4) Enter the phone number for the cell phone you want to send a text message to (Do not enter a 1 before the number, as well as any dashes or spaces) and press the roller wheel.
5) Scroll and select Continue using the roller wheel.
6) Type your message, a maximum of 140 characters. Press the roller wheel when you are done typing your message.
7) Scroll and select Send using the roller wheel.
8) You have successfully sent a SMS Message (text message).

How do I check my SMS Message usage?
You can check on the amount of SMS (text) messages by following the instructions below:

- Scroll and select the PHONE icon
- Dial #674# (hold shift key for first # sign)
- Scroll and select CALL
- A message will pop up that say tells you the amount of SMS (text) messages you used and the amount you have remaining. It will also give you a Bill Close date.

NOTE: The Bill Close date is the date that your SMS messages are reset. You will be billed for any additional SMS messages, over the 300 you are allotted, on your following month’s statement.

BlackBerry 7290 QuickTips

1. To move the cursor in a different direction, hold the Alt key and roll the track wheel.

2. To type an accented or special character, hold the letter key and roll the track wheel. When the desired character appears, release the letter key.

3. To switch to another application, hold the Alt key and press the Escape button. Continue to hold the Alt key and select an application. Release the Alt key to switch to that application.

4. To exit a screen or dialog box, press the Escape button.

5. To change an option field, hold the Alt key. Click a value.

6. To move directly to an item in an options list or menu, press the first letter of the item.

7. To select a check box, press the Space key. To clear the check box, press the Space key again.

8. To select a line of text, press the Shift key and roll the track wheel.

9. To cut selected text, press the Shift key + the Backspace key. To copy selected text, press the Alt key and click the track wheel. To paste text, press the Shift key and click the track wheel.

10. To capitalize a letter, hold the letter key until the capitalized letter appears.

11. To insert a period, press the Space key twice. The next letter is capitalized.

12. To insert the at sign (@) and periods in an Email field, press the Space key.

13. To reply to a message, press R. To forward a message, press F. To reply to all, press L.

14. To move to the top of a screen, press T. To move to the bottom of a screen, press B.

15. To move down a screen, press the Space key. To move up a screen, press the Shift key + the Space key.

16. To turn on CAP lock, press the Alt key + the Right Shift key. To turn off CAP lock, press the Right Shift key.

17. To view sent messages, in the messages list, press the Alt key + O. To view received messages, press the Alt key + I. To view SMS messages, press the Alt key + S. To view phone call logs, press the Alt key + P. To view voice mail messages, press the Alt key + V.

18. To move to the next item, press N. To move to the previous item, press P.

19. To type numbers in a number field, press the number keys. You do not need to press the Alt key.

20. In the Calendar, to change to Agenda view, press A. To change to Day view, press D. To change to Week view, press W. To change to Month view, press M.
