Billing F.A.Q.

Can I get a copy of my billing invoice?
Every GoAmerica account is sent an electronic or paper invoice. If you are set up on monthly paper billing the invoices are mailed out on the 10th of every month and are typically received by mail within a week. If you are on monthly credit card billing an electronic statement will be sent to the alternate email address on file for your account before the 5th of the month.

When does GoAmerica bill my account each month?
GoAmerica processes bills during the first week of each month. If you are being billed by debit or credit card, your GoAmerica charges will appear during this week as well.

What methods can I use to pay my bill?
Automatic credit card/debit card payment. Your credit or debit card will be billed each month and the credit for your payment will appear on the billing statement you receive that month.

I mailed my payment but GoAmerica did not credit my account for the payment.
If your payment was received in our office later than the 25th of the month, the payment will not appear on your next invoice. To ensure proper credit to your account please mail your payment at least 7 working days before the due date on your monthly invoice.

I have authorized GoAmerica to charge my credit/debit card each month for my monthly payment, but I received a bill with a payment due, why?
It may be that your credit/debit card has declined the charge . Please contact GoAmerica Billing department to update your credit card information.

What are characters for both RIM and Motorola users?
A character is a letter, a number, a symbol, a punctuation mark, or a space sent or received from your pager.

What characters are counted in a message for RIM Model 950 and Motorola T900 users?
All characters (both sent and received) in email messages are counted, the subject line and the message itself.

What is "Additional Kilobytes" for RIM Model 950 users?
If you have a RIM 950 pager, the characters are billed in Kilobytes. One kilobyte (KB) = 1024 characters. If you go over your monthly service plan limit, you will see an "Additional KB" fee on your statement (Occasional or Typical plans only). Additional Kilobytes cost $0.10 per hundred.

How many characters are in an average message?
The number of characters in a message depends on the length. A short single paragraph message contains approximately 500 characters.
This explanation contains 175 characters .

Can I change the due date on my bill?
GoAmerica is not able to alter the due date on your bill which means there is one billing cycle for all customers. Service is billed from the first of the month and the cycle closes at the end of the month.

Can I have the messages I sent or received detailed on my bill?
Our billing system is not able to generate a detailed list of messages sent or received. If a charge is disputed, we are able to print out one months itemized calls as a courtesy, any additional months would require a fee.

How do I go about canceling my service?
A 30 DAY written request is required to cancel service. You may send your request to us via fax, letter, email, or online request by going here. The request must contain the following information:

1. Your full name
2. Your GoAmerica customer ID number

I no longer want to have my friend's pager on my bill, how do I have someone's pager charges taken off my account?
We require a service contract for anyone who has an account. If your friend wants to open an account in his/her own name, please have him/her contact Customer Support or click here. Customer Support will provide the person with the necessary forms. The completed form must be faxed or mailed. We must receive the signed contract before we can open a new account and move your friend's pager service to the new account.
